Mortgage Enforcement Clerk – Creditors’ Rights Department

Acting for a number of well-known clients including financial institutions, leasing companies, multinational corporations, and owner-operated businesses, KRMC is a collaborative firm which offers a collegial work environment. KRMC is located in the thriving, uptown business district of Toronto, and has convenient, direct access to the Yonge-Sheppard subway station.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mortgage Enforcement Clerk to join our talented team of staff in our Creditors' Rights department.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting pleadings, including Statements of Claim, Judgments, and Motions seeking leave to issue Writs of Possession;
  • Drafting and preparing Demand Letters, Notices of Sale, and Notices to Vacate;
  • Drafting and preparing eviction documentation;
  • Communicating with property managers and preparing properties for listing and sale;
  • Assisting in the negotiation of Agreements of Purchase and Sale;
  • Effectively communicating with clients using various computer systems and databases;
  • Preparing general correspondence and accounts;
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Law Clerk in the mortgage enforcement area is preferred;
  • Experience in residential real estate transactions is an asset;
  • College Diploma/University Degree in a relevant field;
  • Exceptional computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office);
  • The ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision;
  • The ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Reliable, with an excellent attendance history;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team.

A satisfactory criminal records check will be required from the selected candidate as a condition of employment.
