George Nashaat

George is a Partner within the firm’s Business Law and Real Estate Law groups.

With extensive transactional experience, George knows how to get deals done. He has developed a broad legal practice and regularly advises clients on the purchase, sale, financing and leasing of commercial real estate, and the acquisition and disposition of shares and business assets. He also acts for clients on general corporate advisory matters as well as re-organizations and has extensive experience in drafting a wide range of commercial contracts and joint venture agreements of all types.

Acting for lenders and borrowers at all stages of the business life cycle, George has significant experience in secured lending matters having acted on hundreds of transactions over the years. He excels in preparing and negotiating loan and security documentation for a variety of real estate financing transactions including CMHC insured loans, term, land bridge loans, acquisitions, development/construction lending, refinancings, mezzanine/subordinated debt financings and related intercreditor arrangements/priority agreements.

George earned his J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Calgary. With a laser focus on the big picture, George takes the time to understand his clients and advance their interests successfully. He approaches every issue from both a legal and business perspective, and his knowledge, attention to detail, communication, and creative problem-solving ensures that his clients receive pragmatic solutions to their various needs.
