Presentation to North York Chiropractic Society: Ajay Kapur

On November 14th, KRMC lawyers Ajay Kapur were invited to speak at the monthly meeting of the North York Chiropractic Society. They discussed recent changes to accident legislation in Ontario, how the changes interrelate with tort claims, and how chiropractors can gain greater access to treatment funding.

The North York Chiropractic Society is a community based professional association. Their mission is to serve the chiropractic profession and the people of Ontario in pursuit of good health and excellence in health care.

Presentation to the LSUC’s annual Six-Minute Debtor-Creditor and Insolvency Lawyer Program: Mervyn Abramowitz and Philip Cho

On October 24th, KRMC lawyers Mervyn Abramowitz and Philip Cho were invited to speak at the Law Society’s annual Six-Minute Debtor-Creditor and Insolvency Lawyer Program. Mervyn Abramowitz addressed issues faced by commercial tenants when their landlord becomes insolvent. Philip Cho presented on the topic of secured creditors realizing on assets containing personal information.

On October 23rd a number of our lawyers attended the Joy of Aging conference which took place at the Copper Creek Golf Club in Kleinburg and was attended by more than 250 people who helped to raise over $40,000 for York Central Hospital.

The National Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Section of the Canadian Bar Association hosted the Seventh Annual Pan-Canadian Insolvency and Restructuring Conference on Friday September 23, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency in Toronto. Representing KRMC at the conference, were Mervyn Abramowitz and Philip Cho.

Mervyn currently holds the position of Secretary of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring section and took on the role of co-chair at the conference.

KRMC Welcomes Catherine Latulippe

We are pleased to announce that Catherine Latulippe has joined the firm, practicing litigation in the Creditors’ Rights Department. Catherine was called to the Bar of Quebec in 2010, after obtaining both civil law and common law degrees. After an abridged articling term at KRMC, Catherine has now joined the firm as a lawyer.

Catherine is fluent in French and is a valuable addition to our team.

KRMC Welcomes Philip Cho

KRMC has added two great new lawyers to our team of trusted professionals.

Philip Cho was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002 and has joined the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Groups. Philip is a seasoned commercial litigator, and he is also experienced in creditors’ rights law, landlord and tenant disputes, real estate litigation, insurance litigation and franchise law.
