Technical Support Person-Full-Time Role

We are currently seeking a Technical Support Person with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our firm. Reporting directly to the I.T. Manager and working closely with the Senior I.T. Administrator, the Technical Support Person's core responsibilities will be to provide the firm and its employees with day-by-day technical support in the area of information technology, under minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be confident dealing with unknown and complex technical issues and provide proactive and reliable technical service to all levels of staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as 1st tier Help Desk and I.T. support for user problems and questions
  • Track, monitor and respond in timely manner to Help Desk tickets and user requests and manage and execute support as needed
  • Collaborate with other members of the I.T. department to resolve user questions and issues, when needed
  • Assist with supporting the various systems used by each firm department
  • Prepare and rebuild desktop images as required, including testing and quality control
  • Troubleshoot technical (hardware and software) issues, physical and virtual workstations and peripherals as required, look for solutions for unknown problems
  • Escalate issues to I.T. Manager and/or Senior I.T. Administrator as needed
  • Perform new hire orientations and/or additional support training seminars
  • Assist with meeting setups and take down of video conferencing equipment, laptops, and projectors
  • Continuously work on improvement of Information Security and the technical environment


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role mandatory
  • Relevant degree / diploma and / or professional certification(s)
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware computer issues skills
  • Practical experience with network equipment (switches, routers, wires, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a dynamic, team-oriented and demanding work environment
  • Motivated and demonstrated self-learner and researcher of new technologies and opportunities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Using sound judgement at all times, the ability to work independently, follow instruction with minimal supervision and take initiative when required
  • Capable of setting priorities while maintaining flexibility when under pressure
  • Ability and demonstrated interest to work with other technologies
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 10-15 lbs.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
