KRMC is pleased to announce the arrival of the following articling students for the 2018-2019 articling term.

August 7, 2018

After summering with our firm in 2017, we welcome back Trisha Patel (Dhandhari) and Broghan Masters, who will complete their articles in the firm's General stream. Trisha recently completed law school at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law and Broghan recently completed law school at Osgoode Hall.

We also welcome Amy Zhang and Emma Najgoldberg to the firm, who will complete their articles in KRMC's Personal Injury and Insurance Litigation stream. Amy summered with KRMC in 2017 and recently completed law school at Queen's University, Faculty of Law. Emma is new to KRMC and recently completed law school at Western University's Faculty of Law.

We look forward to working with our students in the coming months!

KRMC's Philip Cho to Moderate a Panel at The IAKL Conference

Philip Cho will be moderating the Bankruptcy Panel at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Korean Lawyers taking place September 13-15 in Atlanta, Georgia. The IAKL Conference (https://iakl.us/Conference) is the largest convening of attorneys and legal professionals of Korean descent in the world. It gathers attorneys not only from South Korea and throughout the US, but attracts lawyers of the global Korean diaspora from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Canada, the Middle East, and Australia. This year's Conference promises to be the largest one yet, and we expect approximately 500 attorneys, in-house counsel and VIP guests in attendance. Philip also sits on the Board of Governors for IAKL serving as a Regional Governor for Canada.

Congratulations to Cara Wanniarachige on her new position at KRMC!

KRMC is happy to announce the arrival of its newest litigator, Cara Wanniarachige. Cara's practice will be focused on civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on banking and fraud related matters. Cara joined the firm as an associate lawyer upon her recent call to the Ontario Bar. We first met Cara when she was employed as a dedicated support staff member at KRMC. After leaving this position to attend law school, we welcomed Cara back as a summer student and then again as an articling student. We look forward to continuing to work with Cara as she commences her role as the latest member of KRMC's hardworking and talented team of lawyers.

KRMC's Jules Kronis is a 2018 Honouree for the Robert Kaplan Award by the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs-Lake Ontario Region

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, KRMC's Counsel, Jules N. Kronis, Q.C., will be recognized by the Federation of Jewish Men's Club, Lake Ontario Region, as an honouree for the Robert Kaplan award. This award acknowledges Mr. Kronis' dedicated contribution to the Jewish community, including his membership in and support of several synagogues, and his continued and past involvement with Canadian Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem, State of Israel Bonds (Canada), B'nai Brith Canada, Canadian Jewish Congress, Magen David Adom, Jewish National Fund, the Toronto Board of Jewish Education and the National Jewish Advisory Board of Boy Scouts of Canada. KRMC's Philip Cho nominated for the Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers List

Commercial Litigation and Insolvency partner, Philip Cho, has been nominated in Canadian Lawyer's 2018 list of Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, in the category of Corporate/Commercial: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TOP252018. The list of nominees is created through Canadian Lawyer magazine's internal editorial panel as well as suggestions from readers and past honorees.

KRMC Welcomes 2018 Summer Law Students to the Firm!

This year, four students have joined us after having recently completed their second year of law school. Alexandra Jockwig-Welsh and Alice Keuroghlian joined the firm today as students in our general stream. Jasmeen Singh and Kyle Duncan also joined the firm as students in our personal injury stream. Alexandra and Alice are enrolled in the Canadian and American Dual JD program at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law and Jasmeen and Kyle are also enrolled at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law in the single JD program.

Two additional summer students joined us this year after having recently completed their first year of law school. Qasid Iqbal, a former employee of the firm, has joined us this summer and will once again be working with the Creditors' Rights practice group. Qasid just completed his first year at Osgoode Hall Law School. Benjamin Gal has also joined KRMC and will be working in the Corporate Commercial practice group. Benjamin recently completed his first year at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law.

Philip Cho will be presenting at the Law Society of Ontario's presentation of The Six Minute Business Lawyer 2018 on June 4, 2018. Philip will be speaking on bankruptcy and insolvency issues for business lawyers.
